The weather is getting warmer everyday. For those of you who are avid golfers, this probably means you are hitting the green more often. Summer, especially, is a time to take advantage of excellent weather and longer hours of daylight for golfing. You’ve probably already made sure that your clubs are good to go for the summer season. However, have you done the proper cleaning and maintenance on your golf cart? You would not want it to stall on the green one day. Here are some helpful things you can do to keep it running properly all summer long.
Create a Maintenance Schedule
We all have maintenance schedules for our cars. However, do you have one for your golf cart? You will want to make sure the basic functions of the cart operate properly. Check these on a regular basis.
Clean the Battery
If dirt or dust gets trapped in the battery, the usability of the golf cart will be impacted. Make sure you clean the top and sides of the battery.
Water Levels
Check the electrolyte water levels in each cell of the batteries weekly. Refill when needed using distilled water.
Connection Check
Make sure that the cables and batteries that allow the cart to run are not corroded. Also, do the connection caps need tightening?
Continue to do this on a regular basis and schedule major checkups for every three months!
