When you are out on the green golfing, it only makes sense to “Go Green”. After all, you are golfing on the Earth’s resources. Most of the courses are extremely beautiful. And, when it comes to sports, it is hard for any to measure up to the beauty that golf courses have to offer. Given that golfers get to experience this beauty first hand, it makes sense that they would want to be environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, we cannot pursuade all of them to walk 18 holes. Most of them do not have the time and they have become accustomed to the use of a golf cart. However, we might be able to get the to use a new product called a “Solar Roof”.
The Solar Roof is an attachment that can be added to any golf cart. It comes in a kit and when it is installed it enables your golf car to become a solar powered vehicle. The solar panels on the roof generate up to 180 watts and they supply 3 amps directly to a 36 or 48-volt battery. When you use the solar roof, you increase the distance your cart can go by 30 percent.
Many golf courses are looking into installing these solar roofs on their carts. Additionally, the government is soon going to offer a tax credit to golf cart owners who choose to be environmentally friendly.
