Golf Cart Warranties: How Do I Know What’s Covered?

When you are in the market for a new or used golf cart, you want to find one that will take care of you for a very long time. In order for that to happen, you need to find out what kind of warranty package is going to come with the golf cart.

Is the warranty going to be from the seller himself or the manufacturer of the golf cart? In some cases, the dealer will either offer a matching or better warranty than the manufacturer will. Once you figure that out, you need to find out if that warranty will cover the overall use of the vehicle, the vehicle itself or parts and or labor. When you get the cart repaired or tuned up, the shop will issue its own warranty. Once again, you need to figure out if it covers for parts or labor or both. Try to find something that is for an extended period of time; anything under 30 days is going to be a suspect warranty.

As always, be sure to get the warranty in writing and never verbally. You also need to pay attention to the fine print; taking the cart to an unauthorized dealer/repairer and/or unauthorized uses will cause the warranty to be voided.
