Golf carts have become one of the fastest growing modes of transport in the country due to the perceived increases in effiency. Never has there been more people looking for golf carts for sale. Gofl carts are used for recreation and business purposes because they are cheaper to run than other vehicles and more flexible to use.
However, According to the American Journal of Preventative medicine, there are around 9000 golf cart injuries every year – an increase of 132 percent since 1990. Due to the increase in people buying and using golf carts in their everyday lives from sports enthusiasts to businesses, there seems to be an obvious need to improve the safety of golf carts.
Some suggestions by experts include seatbelts, lax controls on golf cart operation and lack of all wheel brakes. These preventative measures should increase the safety of golf carts but the issue lays in the implementation of these risk control measures as there are no regulatory or legal ramifications to oblige manufacturers to do so. Perhaps in the near future manufacturers will focus on safety more but even this could be a big ask because of the extra costs involved for these added features. Despite this, sales of golf carts continue to grow year on year.
