Renting a golf cart is becoming less and less common these days, especially when a person can afford a decent used golf cart today. However, once you have a golf cart of your own, you have to remember the importance of certain things like maintenance. You might not have realized that when you made the purchase – you were too excited to customize it! Don’t worry. Maintaining your golf cart can be simple if you follow these suggestions:
1. Clean the battery posts and connections. It is simple to do this. You just have to disconnect the wires and wipe them down with a rag. Then reconnect them.
2. Maintain the engine oil level at the “full” mark and change the oil often. The suggested oil change is every 200 to 250 hours. Your cart will perform better if you change the oil twice a year or every 100 hours.
3. Keep a clean air filter. Make sure to rid the filter of dust and debris often. And, when it gets too dirty, buy a new one.
4. Lubricate the forward/reverse mechanism. If it gets too dirty, it will get stuck and it will not work correctly.
5. Make sure the tires stay fully inflated. If the tires get too low, you can risk the cart’s engine over-heating.
