Buying Used Electric Golf Carts

used electric golf cartsWhen purchasing a used electric golf cart, the first thing you will need to determine is what your usage will be. Are you using it as a golf cart, a little get around the tract cart, or maybe a farm cart, etc. Your usage will determine the characteristics of your purchase.

There are plenty of used golf carts readily available on the market because golf institutions cycle their carts, getting new ones every two to three years. How used do you want this electric cart to be? Straight off the golf course and into your hands, or do you want something that has gone back to the factory and been ‘refurbished’. Straight off the golf course will not have a warranty whereas a refurbished machine will tend to have between thirty and sixty days. Straight off the golf course will cost you less in the short run, but you’re buying a machine with an unknown history.

Buying from a dealership of refurbished electric carts, you will have more choices available to you, including color and interior options. This will allow savings buying used with more of the choices like you might find in new carts.

If you’re looking to purchase a gas powered golf cart, your choices become much more limited. You might find used carts but they will be quite a bit older so you may need to refurbish the cart or you may just need to buy a new one.
